This 80s something Mecury Grand Marquis belonged to my father-in-law, John. He liked it a lot. In fact, he bought two of them, one grey, one light blue, same year, same options. He ran the wheels off both of them, too. This one is the blue one, although you can't see it here. It's the special one.
It was the car we hung the JUST MARRIED sign and the trail of cans on a string onto and drove away from the church from in 2000. My father-in-law wanted us to use it. We were running late when we left the church so we learned how well the old girl cornered as the Best Man who was driving made a few laps of town.
It's been a while since the poor thing moved fast. In fact, it's been a while since it has moved at all. There is not only a tree growing against it, there's another growing under the hood. Aging isn't pretty, that's for sure.
Saying this as someone who also has stuff growing in the wrong places now.
