I have a fixation with late eighties and nineties travel trailers. I love them. Just modern enough to be comfy and just old enough to have been built better than the newer slop you get off an RV lot these days. Most important, they are affordable, especially if they lack slide-outs.

Slide-outs are nice, but to me they are just another thing that leaks and breaks. Leaks are an issue for sure, my unit has a few and I spent a lot of time re-caulking the unit last spring. I have a bit of work left to do and it should be good for another decade.

The trailer in this photo is a bit shorter and lighter than mine, thus the single axle. I think it would be comfy enough for one person or a couple, but cramped for a family. Looks to be in fairly good shape. I wish I had written down the name because I forgot it wouldn't be visible in the instant print for my toy camera. I'm still getting used to the ultra low-fi aspect of it.

In any case, It's kind of fun for me to slide down back alleys and see what other people camp in. I delight in finding older fifth wheels. We may not have the most recent or prettiest units in the campground, but I guarantee you we're having as much as the guys with the new stuff, and without the monthly payments.
