I like textures. I shoot them a lot. I even built a site where I have over 500 of them up now and eventually will be offering thousands more of them to others for use in their own art. This is because I have photographed more than I can use myself in two extra lifetimes. Someone else may as well have fun with them. Further to that, they're free. Photographers are broke enough already without being extorted by one of their own.
Anyhow, as to this tree... I noticed the bark patterns and I realized they looked a lot like the swirls on a human brain, but without hot sauce (iZombie fans know what I'm talkin' about here). Of course I had to take a picture, once with a regular camera for the texture site and once again with the toy camera for this site.
I have to say I like how the halftone dot image looks when printed. It's kind of neat. Expect more crappy bark pictures from me because looking at them is fun, and fun is the point of using a camera. That's the cake. If you get a fine-art print out of it, that's icing, but too much icing can be fattening. Most of the joy should come from using the camera itself.
My 2 cents.
