This may or may not be the oldest camera I own. I don't know for certain. I have a Kodak No. 2A Folding Autographic Brownie dating back to 1922. I have the No. 2 Model F Brownie that dates back to 1931. I think this camera is older. I can't see much in the way of info on it and it is now too fragile to play with because of - you guessed it - age.
Here is what I do know:
It belonged to my grandmother and grandfather. They bought it used and it was the main camera in their photography studio, McCormick Photography, in Innisfail, Alberta, Canada for many years after WWII. I know they took a picture of my mother with it when she was age six in 1953 and that my grandmother hand-coloured the portrait.
I know that it is my third most prized possession after the No. 2 Brownie my gran gave me at age five and my mom's old Raggedy Anne doll. These are the Three Things that followed me through being homeless.
What I don't know is how old it is. Maybe I'll learn someday.
