There are a few generations of tech in this image. The large TV antenna at the right is the obvious one. Around 2006, satellite dishes appeared on the old farmhouse. First for TV, retiring the old antenna, and then Internet, retiring the phone line for that need. Finally, the Internet dish was eclipsed around 2010 by the very small, hard to see blip partway up the antenna tower - a 4G wireless unit. The tech just kept getting better and smaller and more capable.
The owners of the tech have gotten less capable over the years. One has passed and the other is in long term care. To be human is to become less functional as we age. The future probably belongs to machines.
